NAAC
The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) was established in 1994 as an autonomous institution of the University Grants Commission (UGC) with its Head Quarter in Bengaluru. Dr. Radhakrishnan Committee on transformative reforms in accreditation was approved by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Based on the recommendations of the Committee, the Executive Committee of NAAC had proposed launching of reforms in two phases: Binary Accreditation and Maturity Based Graded Levels.
The initiation of the NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) process by Baiswara Degree College is a significant step towards enhancing the quality of education and institutional performance. NAAC accreditation is a hallmark of quality and provides institutions with a framework for self-assessment, accountability, and improvement.
Here are some key aspects of the NAAC accreditation process:
Self-Study Report (SSR): The college has prepared and submitted a comprehensive report detailing its strengths, weaknesses, and plans for improvement. This report is crucial for the assessment process.
Peer Team Visit: After the submission of the SSR, a peer team from NAAC will visit the institution to validate the claims made in the report and to assess the quality of education and infrastructure.
Criteria for Assessment: NAAC evaluates institutions based on several criteria, including curricular aspects, teaching-learning processes, research, infrastructure, student support, governance, and innovation.
Grading: Based on the evaluation, NAAC assigns a grade to the institution, which reflects its overall quality and performance.
Benefits: Accreditation helps in improving the institution’s credibility, attracting better students and faculty, and enhancing funding opportunities.
