Baiswara region, situated in between the west of Raebareli and the east of Unnao, is a renowned land of north India. It imbibes in itself almost all the cultural and social valuesof Indian nation. It is a blend of wisdom and valour. It has the privilege to produce the great patriots, poets and litterateurs. The land has produced the literary gems- Acharaya Mahavir Prasad Dwivedi, Mahapran Nirala, Acharaya Nand Dulare Bajpai, Dr. Ram Vilas Sharma, Mulla Daud and Malik Mohammad Jaisi. On the other hand, it gave birth to the gallant freedom fighters such as Rana Beni Madhav of Shankerpur and Rao Ram Bux Singh of Daundiya Khera. It is on this sacred land, the lamp of education was kindled on 17th February, 1946 with the initiation of Shree Jageshwar Singh Judev and the Rajmata of Alampur State Queen Dilraj Kuwari.The sapling that was planted by the Baiswara Education Trust in 1946 took the shape of a huge tree in the form of Baiswara Degree College on 5 th August, 1966 with late Shree Lal Rajendra Bahadur Singh (Lal Saheb) being the first Manager and late Shree Ram Nath Singh being the first Principal. After getting the permanent affiliation from Agra University on 30th June, 1969, Baiswara Degree College started its journey with 49 students and 05 teachers. The foundation stone of its building was laid down by the then Prime minister of India late Smt. Indira Gandhi on 7th April, 1973 Baiswara Degree College was established with a view to dispel the academic darkness of this region as it had no higher education institution by that time. At present, the college contains Art Faculty, Science faculty and B.T.C (D.El.Ed) education faculty. There are post graduate classes in several disciplines, viz English, Hindi, Geography, Political Science, Sociology, etc. The college comprises of 19 permanent posts for teachers, 12 class III officials and 19 class IV workers. Presently, approximately 2100 students, including100 trainers, are studying in the college. The college has the credit in imparting quality education. As a result, many of its students have achieved great success in various fields. The college has achieved several gold medals in games and sports.
